This is the gorgeous Art Deco machine, and it's essentially the culmination of Remington's streamlined design language from the late 1930s.
Remington introduced its streamlined Model 5 body in late 1935, probably designed by noted industrial designer Oscar Bruno Bach. This was Remington's entry into the Art Moderne aesthetic sweeping consumer products — rounded, flowing lines meant to evoke speed and modernity.
The Streamliner itself debuted in February 1941 as a distinct model:
